Mercy Not Sacrifice by Dan Parks - Chapter 1

Johnnie Carman begins the narrative in the present tense as he sits in Island Park by the river just outside of Gardenstown with his wife and his two sons. He begins to tell the story of how he once was.

Johnnie opens the past up at the funeral home and travels to St. Michael’s Church where Grandpa John’s funeral service begins.
